It's official: EA sticks with Tiger, announces Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11

Though we've already twice confirmed EA's steadfast dedication to Tiger Woods -- and, subsequently, sequels to his popular sports franchise -- EA Sports has gone ahead and announcedTiger Woods PGA Tour 11. Coming in "June 2010" to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and iPhone,Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 features the philandering golf star (as per usual) and others from the PGA Tour circuit. Game developers: Nintendo is not doing enough to promote WiiWare and DSiWare

It's no secret that Nintendo hasn't been proliferating the online sales front, and for some of the developers on WiiWare and DSiWare, the company just isn't making enough effort to promote the service. As a result, many games on the online store have gone unnoticed, much to the dismay of their developers.

"Nintendo, in my opinion, could do more to keep the WiiWare and DSiWare stores in customer's minds" said Nick Watt of Australian developer, Nnooo! Games. "It is great that every new customer knows about and uses these services when they first connect their Wiis or DS. However, how many continue to frequent those stores? I think it is and should be Nintendo's responsibility to have a continued marketing presence to maintain people's awareness about the service."

"We feel that Nintendo is not doing enough to promote the service at all," said Jag Jaege of JV Games. "We feel that the vast majority of Wii owners have absolutely no idea that they can even connect to the internet."

Nintendo already launched a sizable ad campaign for their digital distribution avenues, but the push goes only as far as the United Kingdom.

Super Mario War Wii 1.0

This is a port of Super Mario War to the Wii, using SDL Wii. It should be fully functional (with the exception of netplay - which requires someone (hint) to port SDL_Net). To make this port possible, I've had to rewrite significant portions of SDL Wii, particularly a complete re-write of the file, video, and sound systems. However, I'm hoping this work will encourage other developers to port more SDL-based games and applications to the Wii.

Smile! Fatal Frame 4 fan translation available

A dedicated team of homebrewers has done what Nintendo and Tecmo never did: translate Fatal Frame IV. A team at Fatal Frame fansite Beyond the Camera's Lens has released a patch that swaps out the Japanese text in the Tecmo/Nintendo/Grasshopper Manufacture-developed Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse with its own translated English text and allows the Japanese disc to be loaded in other regions' Wiis. The best part? It runs from an SD card on any Wii -- no matter which region, and without the need for modding.

We suspect sites like Play-Asia and YesAsia are about to experience a significant increase in the number of orders for this 2008 survival horror game.

Ybase Sega Saturn emulator for wii

Yabause Wii is the Wii version of Yabause, a Sega Saturn emulator, and is the first for Wii to emulate the complex processes of the Sega Saturn. The Wii port is not released officially. Some unofficial versions have been released. Note that the Wii port is in testable status, and won't be officially supported until a later date. You must not ask the Yabause Team about unofficial versions.
